What is NGO Darpan?
A free online portal by NITI Aayog and NIC that enables NGOs and voluntary organizations to:
- Register and obtain a Unique ID
- Access government schemes and grants
- Improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability
Who Can Register?
- Registered Societies
- Public Trusts
- Section 8 Companies (under Companies Act, 2013)
Why Darpan Registration is Important:
- Mandatory for FCRA registration
- Essential to apply for Government Schemes & CSR funds
- Enhances NGO credibility with ministries and donors
Documents Required:
- NGO PAN Card
- Registration Certificate (Society/Trust Deed/MOA-AOA)
- Constitution Documents (Deed/MOA/AOA)
- Details of 3 Key Members (Name, Aadhaar, PAN, Mobile, Email)
- Details of 1 Independent Witness (Aadhaar & PAN; must not be a key member)
- (Optional but recommended):
- Member photographs
- Bank account details
6-Step Registration Process:
- Visit: https://ngodarpan.gov.in
- Click “Register” → Create your User ID and Password
- Fill in Organization Details (Name, PAN, Registration Number, Date, Type)
- Upload Required Documents
- Add 3 Key Members (with Email, Mobile, Aadhaar & PAN)
- Enter Work Area, Projects, Witness Info →
Verify Affidavit, eSign, and Submit
You will receive your NGO Unique ID after successful validation.

Upload clear, legible documents
Ensure name, date, and PAN consistency across all entries
Update your profile annually to maintain validity
Save and back up your registration details and Unique ID
