What is NGO Darpan?

A free online portal by NITI Aayog and NIC that enables NGOs and voluntary organizations to:

  • Register and obtain a Unique ID
  • Access government schemes and grants
  • Improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability

Who Can Register?

  • Registered Societies
  • Public Trusts
  • Section 8 Companies (under Companies Act, 2013)

Why Darpan Registration is Important:

  • Mandatory for FCRA registration
  • Essential to apply for Government Schemes & CSR funds
  • Enhances NGO credibility with ministries and donors

Documents Required:

  1. NGO PAN Card
  2. Registration Certificate (Society/Trust Deed/MOA-AOA)
  3. Constitution Documents (Deed/MOA/AOA)
  4. Details of 3 Key Members (Name, Aadhaar, PAN, Mobile, Email)
  5. Details of 1 Independent Witness (Aadhaar & PAN; must not be a key member)
  6. (Optional but recommended):
    • Member photographs
    • Bank account details

6-Step Registration Process:

  1. Visit: https://ngodarpan.gov.in
  2. Click “Register” → Create your User ID and Password
  3. Fill in Organization Details (Name, PAN, Registration Number, Date, Type)
  4. Upload Required Documents
  5. Add 3 Key Members (with Email, Mobile, Aadhaar & PAN)
  6. Enter Work Area, Projects, Witness Info →

Verify Affidavit, eSign, and Submit

You will receive your NGO Unique ID after successful validation.

Pro Tips:

Upload clear, legible documents

Ensure name, date, and PAN consistency across all entries

Update your profile annually to maintain validity

Save and back up your registration details and Unique ID
